Welcome To Sunnyside Gardens

Sunnyside Gardens is open to the public along with the adjoining nursery for your pleasure and inspiration. We have been building and creating the garden for our and your pleasssure for over thirty years. Sales of plants in the nursery support our passion.

The Garden Shop at Sunnyside is located by the pink garden, just as you enter the grounds from the parking area along the road. The shop carries selected tools (the ones we use), loop stakes and grill cages, garden ornaments and birdbaths, zinc labels and more. We offer a selection of English teapots and other tea accoutrements and Typhoo™ Tea direct from England. We offer lovely shea butter French soaps and other bath items to bring the mood of a spa into your relaxing bathtime. The shop itself is a neat addition to the garden. Of post and beam construction, it adds a traditional out building to the other 19th century buildings that the gardens surround.

Sunnyside offers tea and guided garden tours. We can serve your group of eight or more from our tea menu, offering 3 price levels depending on your needs. Tea available by appointment on certain days, June first until August 31, by appointment which must be made well in advance. Since the owner enjoys serving the tea, available appointments depend on her schedule. Call or email for menu and details.

Currently many of our gardens are undergoing extensive renovation. It might be interesting for you to watch our progress if you stop by occasionally. We lost control of a few beds due to the world conquering invasiveness of Aegopodium podograria, commonly known as bishop's or gout weed. Don't ever buy it, take it as a gift or give it away!

We are always growing, always changing, always creating something new to see.

Fall Hours are unreliable. But you can purchase by the honor system. Just choose only plants with a price tag and slide payment with cash or check under the shop door. Plants without prices aren't ready to go.

Monday through Saturday, 9:00 am 'til 6 pm.
Sunday: Noon until 5:00 pm.
Just 20 country minutes from Auburn and Lewiston, 35 from Augusta.
